Experienced and successful WAHM moms and network marketers face the dilema of what to tell family, friends or previous customers about why they are switching direct sales companies. In the corporate world it is not unusual for talented and ambitious people to move from one postion or company to another to advance their personal goals and career without any stigma, it should be so in the direct marketing or world if the move is made for the right reason.
Here are some helpful criteria for evaluating a new product, direct sales company or MLM opportunity before making a full or part-time commitment. Significant things to look at might be:
* Is it truly a “work from home” opportunity best suited for the WAHM
* Is product patented and proven or is it in “pre-launch”
* How do other products compare that are in the same category
* What are marketplace demographics and market timing of product life cycle
* How are achievements recognized
* What is the nature of market competition
* Are there any product inventory or delivery requirements
* What tools and resources does the company provide and at what cost
* What kind of training is available and at what cost
* What are start up costs; most range from as low as $45 or less to as much as $500+
* What are the requirements to establish and retain residual income
* What is the company’s reputation in the marketplace or is it prelaunch hype
* What level of personal satisfaction would be derived from accomplishments
